The Basics of Square Dancing
Square dancing is a very old form of dancing that involves a group of people. You will often find it taught at schools and performed at country gatherings where the entire family is in attendance. Depending on the type of square dancing you are doing, there are various moves including the flutter wheel, reverse flutter, pass the ocean, and the right and left through can all be parts that you will need to know. The best way to learn is to get to know one element of square dancing inside and out before you move on to the next. After you have learned all of them you can start to bring them together. Your goal should be to eventually move from one of them into the next gracefully and easily.
You can also take on the role of being the caller for a square dancer. Now, this role is also very tricky and takes practice. Remember that the dancers out there are relying upon you to tell them what moves to make and when to make them.

You can also make it a project for a youth group to learn if you are a leader for one of them out there. Square dancing isn’t as common as it once was but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a great source of fun so check it out!
