Ice Dance – the epitome of grace and skill

Recently, the Ice Dancing world has some good news. Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir's Canadian Ice Dance duo sparked in a glittering golden motion at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, this month at Skate Canada Autumn Classic International. This is the first performance in the past two and a half years; their last skating they won the silver medal at the 2014 Sochi Olympics in Russia. Not surprisingly, they scored 77.2 points in the short dance, far ahead of the second-ranked Danish player.

However, there is still competition for the free dance part.

Ice Dance is a popular sport trained in figure skating; it became the official Olympic sport of 1976. As the term suggests, the routine involves a couple, a man and a woman performing a rotating and rhythmic dance action music piece. There are strict requirements for the performance to be evaluated…
